The Concept of saying Insha Allah (God willing) in Islam

If you’ve been around me or another Muslim you might have heard us say, “Insha Allah” or “God willing” after we speak about our plans or something that may happen in the future.  We do this because Allah (God) instructs us in the Holy Qu’ran to do so.  This is because none of us knows exactly what will occur in the future except God so we cannot speak with certainty about a time that is ahead of us. Furthermore we cannot do a single act unless God wills for this act to occur.   

Also it should be known that just because someone says this doesn’t mean that they are not putting forth their utmost effort to make sure that their commitment is fulfilled. We simply want to be in line with the plans of the Supreme Architect, Allah.

The Holy Qur’an (Chapter 18, Verses 23-24)

23. Nor say of anything, “I shall be sure to do so and so tomorrow” -

24. Without adding, “So Please Allah!” And call thy Lord to mind when you forget and say, “I hope that my Lord will guide me ever closer than this to the right road.”
